How Meera Jasmine signed Inga Enna Solluthu Movie ?

Looks like VTV Ganesh is keen on finishing work on Inga Enna Solluthu and releasing the film by this year. Starring Ganesh, Meera Jasmine and Santhanam in the lead, the film’s being directed by Vincent Selva.
Ask Ganesh how he convinced Meera to sign the film, and he says, “We met her at her residence in Kerala and told her that we have a script for her. She told me politely that she has no free dates. But I insisted, and she listened to the narration. She was excited, and immediately sorted out dates for our film. She told us we could do the photoshoot the very next day at her residence.”
The film, Ganesh says, is about a 40-year-old man who takes life as it comes. “Forced by friends, he marries. What he thinks is the biggest blunder of his life changes him for the better,” says Ganesh, adding, “I’m playing the lead in the film only because of Santhanam. I was impressed by his way of working in Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya, and learnt a lot of things from him. Now, I’ve got the confidence to take the responsibilities of making a film.”

What’s a love story without some fun, heartaches and reality checks? Most love stories of our times pass through these three phases, and by then, either the girl or the boy realises they’re not meant to be together, and move on with their lives. However, in some rare cases, we see a love story enter the fourth phase – when you realise that love doesn’t age, but people do in a relationship.

Anand L Rai’s Ambikapathy, the Tamil dubbed version of Raanjhanaa, is a simple love story of a small-town boy and a girl, who in the process of figuring out the thin line between love and friendship, uncover stronger feelings for each other. We’ve had oodles of love stories focusing on the communal divide between the lovers, but Ambikapathy is largely about the divide in the ideologies of the youth of modern India. It’s the story of small town values versus urban philosophies.

What happens when a girl with city-intellect is pitted against the conventional yet archaic values of a small-town boy in the name of love? This is what precisely Rai depicts in this breezy entertainer packed with pain, laughter and little melodrama.

Ambikapathy scores an ace in two departments – casting and music. There would have been a third one if the second half was shorter and less melancholic. Spearheaded by Dhanush, who was irreplaceable in his role, and a brilliant supporting cast of Swara and Ayub, the film helps Sonam unleash her acting prowess.

Rahman’s music, needless to say, becomes an integral part of the film’s composition and helps us connect with the soul of the film.

Just like his previous film Tanu Weds Manu, Rai’s second directorial venture celebrates life in the alleys of Benaras, on the banks of the Ganga, giving us a slice-of-life of small town adventures. Some of the best moments come from the scenes between Dhanush, Ayub and Swara. The camaraderie between them may pop up question in many as to how could two guys use a girl for their whims and fancies, but if you look at it from a small-town’s point of view, it’s one of the best friendship moments ever captured onscreen.

You could easily write-off Rai’s protagonist, who like a love-struck puppy, stalks Sonam Kapoor, but it doesn’t rule out the probability that most small-town love stories are akin to what was portrayed to us. If you haven’t known a friend who cut his wrist or ever attempted suicide over love, then it’s unlikely that you will understand what lies beneath the layers of the emotion.

For people who attach only a love story tag to Ambikapathy, there is so much you didn’t understand in the film or could’ve gotten bored with because of the disengaging second half. Love is merely used as a tool to help us understand the complexity of modern-day relationships (including father-daughter or father-son) and politics.

There are two heroes in the film – Dhanush and AR Rahman, and both wear the south Indian label like a medal of honour and never allow it come in between their work. With his flawless performance as a Benarasi Brahmin boy, Dhanush kicks all the south Indian cliches out of the window, while Rahman helps us connect with the film more on an emotional level.

Verdict : Movie for Lovers Only

Bharathiraja – He is definitely one of the most talented directors in Tamil Cinema. His last Tamil movie “Bommalattam” got released in 2008. He is known for giving wonderful village-centric movies such as 16 Vayathinalae, Mudhal Mariyathai, Azhaigal Oyivathillai,etc. But, also, at the same time he had given us wonderful thriller movie such as “Sigappu Rojakkal”, “Tik Tik Tik”,etc too. His last movie Bommalattam was one of the best thriller movies in Tamil Cinema with unbelievable twist in the climax. He is now back to his fort (village-centric) movie – Annakodi. This movie was earlier titled as “Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum” with Iniya & Parthiban in the lead role. Later, Ameer was informed to play the Kodiveeran role. Then, the movie underwent lots of casting changes and may be even the story change. Kodiveeran characterization had been reduced and it got released with the title “Annakodi”. Movie got released today without much promotion. Legendary Director Manirathnam couldn’t satisfy his fans with his last movie “Kadal”. Let us see whether Bharatiraja satisfies the common man in this review.

Story: It is almost remake of 16 Vayathilae with inspirations from Sindhu Samaveli & Bharatiraja’s earlier movies.

Lakshman Narayan makes his debut through this movie. He doesn’t fit the rural guy role in the movie. He has to improve on all departments. It is very surprising to see that a lead actor from Bharatiraja movie failing miserably.

Karthika Nair – It is her second tamil movie after acting in Blockbuster hit “KO”. Her characterization was very BOLD and she had done a decent job. They are scenes in the movie where she has to run with bareback and she had to be appreciated for taking this challenging role. She is one of the very few lucky heroines nowadays to act in the female oriented movie.

Manoj Bharatiraja & Rama Prabha has acted very well in this movie. This is one of the best ever role for Manoj as Villain and he had done an excellent job. Though, in few scenes, he had acted much more than required.

Editor Pazhanivel & New Bridegroom G.V. Prakash have done their job. But, poor screenplay spoils their work.

Bharathiraja will direct movies which are very realistic. But, in this movie, he had used poor visual graphics in the movie for even showing birds which looks very artificial. He is one of the best screenplay writers of Tamil Cinema, but he had failed miserably in that department in this movie. Movie had been certified as U/A, but, it deserves to be certified as “A’’ as they are few vulgar scenes in the movie. First Half of the movie will test the patience of anyone whoever watches the movie. Second Half of the movie has lots of Bold scenes and travels without engaging screenplay.

Verdict : Annakadi is completely outdated movie from Bharathiraja.

Ban on Bharathiraja Annakodi Film ?

Following the ban episode on Vishwaroopam, almost every odd movie that releases has now come under the threat of being banned. The latest movie that has suffered the fate is Bharathiraja’s Annakodi.
A petition has been filed by Thevar Pasarai Iyakkam president AK Ragupathy stating that “The Film is a love story between Thevar girl and a Dalit boy, it may create communal clashes between groups.”
The petitioner added that the content the film were against 5B of cinematographic Act 1952, but the Central Board of Film Certification have awarded U/A and have granted permission for release. Raghupathy demanded the movie be banned in the South Tamil Nadu.
However the Judge asked the petitioner if he had seen the movie to which he replied No. Following which the judge said the petitioner cannot presume that the movie will cause communal imbalance without even seeing the movie, Hence the case was postponed to Friday, the day of Annakodi release.

Sreesanth signed film with Prabhudeva and Prakashraj

Cricketer Sreesanth who was arrested for charges of spot fixing in IPL 6 is now all set to turn his attention towards the silver screen. Sreesanth will be making his acting debut through a movie tilted “Big Picture” this bilingual film will be released in Tamil and Malayalam and be directed by P.Balachandra Kumar.
Though the initial discussions for the film was done a while back , Sreesanth has agreed to do the film very recently. The film already as Prakash Raj and Prabhu Deva to its star cast , the director also revealed that the story of movie has nothing to do with the life of Sreesanth or his match fixing scandal he is just another actor in the movie. Dubai, London , Delhi and Kochi are some filming locations the director has opted for.
The film is expected to begin from August or september as Sreesanth’s passport has been surrendered before the court regarding his connection with match fixing case.

Vadivelu Thenaliraman Movie Shooting Stopped

Vadivelu after a long break was set to resume his film career with Gaja Buja Gaja Thenalai Ramanum Krishna Devarayarum admist all the difficulties the movie was finally commenced at AVM Studios in Chennai after erecting some expensive sets. However the movie shooting as now come to a standstill.
The reason being the team’s inability to find a cameraman. Earlier, Sahadevan was roped in but he walked away after certain creative differences and then Cameraman Gopinath was roped in, who also walked out. The team then tried out to sign Vijay Milton who said yes only to decide against it later. Owing to this the entire movie shooting as come to a standstill.

Actress Bhavana, who was last seen in Asal, will next be seen in a totally different avatar in a Mollywood film Ezhamathe Varavu.
“There’s no comparison to any role I’ve done in my career so far with Bhanumathi, the character I play in Ezhamathe Varavu. When Hariharan Sir said that the character I play in the film would be a mature housewife in her 30s and about the depth of the role, little did I know how it would be a milestone in my career,” she says.
While Bhavana has mostly been seen in glam roles in her recent films, this film, she says, would see her in a makeover mode, with her costumes in the film being mostly saris.

Trisha to be paired opposite Balakrishna ?

Looks like the hunt for Balakrishna’s leading lady for his next big screen outing has come to an end. After considering several names to play the female lead, the makers of the film have zeroed in on Trisha to be paired opposite Balayya for the action entertainer directed by Boyapati Sreenu. If things work out, then this would be the first time Trisha will share screen space with Balayya.
A source close to Trisha says, “Yes, talks for signing Balakrishna’s next film are currently on, even though things are yet to materialize. Reportedly, Trisha heard the script and was impressed with it and even finds her character very interesting. Since this would be the first time Trisha will be paired opposite Balayya, the actress is all excited to work with the star hero, and is indeed looking forward to the project. The actors managers are currently working on the dates and it’ll be interesting to see how it all pans out”.

Their last successful movie was Kalakalappu, directed by Sundar.C. Siddharth is a Talented Actor who is struggling to give a block buster in his mother tongue (Tamil). Let us see whether Sundar C manages to give a HIT for UTV & Siddharth along with the help of COMEDY SUPERSTAR – Santhanam in this review.

Story: Santhanam, Love Guru / Consultant help Siddharth to succeed in his love by giving him ideas. Sundar C had tried to give a Feel Good Romantic Comedy movie for the first time in his career.

Santhanam – He is the real hero of the movie. His introduction scene comes only after 30 minutes in a stylish way. His costumes in the movie were even better than Siddharth and he looks handsome in the movie. He proves yet again that he deserves “COMEDY SUPER STAR” tag with his wonderful performance. Siddharth – He had to be appreciated for choosing this role as Santhanam has more importance and opportunity to perform in this movie. Role of an innocent guy in the first 30 minutes of the movie doesn’t fit him much, but he has managed to do it well

Hansika Motwani – It is yet another movie for her in which she had been used as Glamorous Doll. Voice Synch was an issue in a scene or two. She looks cute and has tried to act in this movie too.

Ganesh Venkataraman (Trisha’s boy friend in Abhiyum Naanum) had played the role of a Smart Handsome gu,y who is liked by almost all the girls in the office. He looks smart and fits the role.

RJ Balaji – Movie begins with his narration and he has done it in his style.”Yaaruda Mahesh” trailer reached 3 Lakhs views within 3 days was due to his narration style. He takes care of the movie for the first 30 minutes (before Santhanam’s Intro) with his one – liners.

Samantha, Vishal & Khushboo makes special appearance in the movie.

Music Director Sathya had given wonderful songs in his previous movie “Engeyum Eppothum”. He also has given wonderful melody songs in the movie “Ponmaalai Pozhudhu” (yet to be released). But, in TVSK, except “Azhagendral” song, other songs sound very average. Even, BGM in the movie was not upto the mark.

Cinematographer Gopi Amarnath had captured wonderful foreign locations in duet songs. Editor Praveen & Srikanth have made sure that movie looks stylish and compact

Sundar C is a Minimum Guarantee Director as he completes and releases the movie within 6 months at a decent budget with good comedy. Though he is used to give Comedy movies, his direction style is quite different from his earlier movies. People may even think it as Director Rajesh’s movie (OKOK, SMS). Till date, only Rajesh had used the full potential of Santhanam. Now, Sundar C too joins the list. Story happens in IT Company backdrop and it was quite urban-centric in the first half. But, he had managed to include some commercial ingredients in the second half to engage all kind of audience. Hence, movie may look little dragging, especially towards the climax. Songs in the movie acts as SPEEDBREAKERS and gives 4 Intervals for the Guys to smoke.

Verdict : Overall, TVSK is ONE MAN SHOW by Santhanam yet again.. It is Sundar C’s OKOK

No Ban on Thillumullu – Visu Petition Dismissed by Court

As KT reported yesterday Veteran Director Visu filled an petition to ban Thillu Mullu. Visu who had written the screenplay and dialogue for the Superstar Yesteryear blockbuster claimed the makers of the remake failed to obtain permission from him for the remake.

However Chennai High Court has dismissed Visu’ petition today, The Thillu Mullu’s team lawyer explained to the judge that they have indeed got permission from Gol Maal and Thillu Mullu Producers and their movie team have not used Visu’s screenplay nor dialogue.

Thillu Millu is all set to hit the screens tomorrow.

Shah Rukh’s most awaited Chennai Express Trailer was out just minutes back. SRK plays a North Indian who falls in love with Deepika Padukone who essays the role of South Indian in the movie, Apart from Sathyaraj who plays the father of Deepika, Several South Indian Stars like Priyamani, Delhi Ganesh are all part of the star-cast.

The crew of the Arun Vijay-Karthika starrer Deal recently filmed an action sequence in the Chennai-Puducherry route. The interesting part is that the scene was filmed in an open field that had 6-foot grass and featured Karthika driving a car through it.
A source says, “The camera was on the bonnet of the car and she (Karthika) had to drive through the grass. It was a difficult terrain, but she pulled it off quite well. The hero, Arun Vijay, and the rest of the crew were impressed with her dedication.”

Very few actors have good fan base in A, B & C centers. Sasikumar is one of the very few actors in Tamil Cinema whom people think as their friend / brother. Few movies with less budget and wonderful script ran well in A Centers recently. But, they didn’t manage to even fetch average collections in B & C Centers. But, Sasikumar’s movies till now had run well in all Centers. Hence, the movie had been brought by SUN Pictures and released by Red Giant Movies in record number of theaters (more than 300). Movie had created huge expectation in B & Centers and had been sold for huge price (highest for Sasikumar film). But, the trailer of the movie failed to impress certain section of audience. Trailer shows Sasikumar as an Action Hero with lots of Punch Dialogues. People have accepted him as a next door guy and they may not agree if he is shown as an Action Hero who flies in the air and speaks dialogues which are irrelevant to the movie. Let us see whether this movie will satisfy the Common Man in this review.

Story: It is a women centric movie in which happy go lucky Sasi Kumar turns to a good person after falling in love with Lakshmi Menon. Movie revolves around the relationship between Sasikumar and his mom Saranya Ponvannan with light hearted comedy scenes, sentimental scenes and emotional dialogues.

Sasikumar & Lakshmi Menon – After successful Sundarapandian, they reunite as lead pair in this movie. There were rumours going around as they were acting in consequent movies. Sasikumar cleared the rumours stating that even Abinaya, Ananya too have worked with him in consequent movies. He informed that Actress prefer working with him as they will feel SAFE while working with him.

Sasikumar had acted well in this village-based story as usual. It seems, he learnt Silambam for 2 months and has performed well in the movie. But, this movie doesn’t require Silambam fighting scenes. There are lots of punch dialogues & fight scenes in the movie with lots of blood, which is unusual for a Sasikumar’s movie. Story is as old as Tamil Cinema and hence, it is very difficult to engage the audience. But, Sasikumar’s acting, dialogue modulation, light hearted humour scenes, good dialogues make sure that audience doesn’t get bored.

Lakshmi Menon has good fan base due to her excellent acting in Kumki and her homely face. But, she doesn’t have much scope to perform in this movie and had been used a beautiful doll.

Saranya Ponvannan acts as a mother for Tamil heroes in 8 out of 10 movies and we have started feeling it as stereotypical. But, in this movie, she has more weightage than Sasi Kumar. There is a scene in the movie in which she feels too happy hearing that Sasikumar had agreed to marry Lakshmi Menon. No one can even come closer to her acting in that scene.

Murugadoss as Sasikumar’s friend had done a wonderful job. He had performed well not only in the comedy scenes, but also emotional scenes. Bala (Kana Kaanum Kalangal) receives huge applause for his timing comedy dialogues.

Ghibran – It is his third movie after Vaagai Sooda Vaa and Vathikuchi. “Aruvaakaaran” song was too good, but the other songs were pretty average. He had borrowed music from 1980’s classics for humour scenes. It works in the beginning, but later becomes repetitive.

Cinematographer Mahesh Muthuswamy had made sure that even small streets in the village is covered and really looks good.

Editor Gopi Krishna could have edited few more scenes. Movie runs for 150 minutes, but it looks like 200 minutes as there is absolutely no story in the movie. Even scenes before the climax can be put at any portion after the interval.

Director Muthaiah (assistant director of T P Gajendaran & Bhoopathy Pandian) makes his debut through this movie. Story seems to be inspired from a real-life character of a person who had great helping tendency and respect for women from his village – Srivillputhur. He had tried to give a feature film with just these 2 characteristics of a person and had failed to engage the audience with very average screenplay. Scenes may look good if you watch it in TV. But, when you see it as a full movie, the scenes are not linked and there is no continuity.
Sasikumar must have got convinced to do this movie after hearing the Climax scene which is new to Tamil Cinema. Climax will receive mixed response.

Overall, Kuttipuli is not as GOOD as earlier Sasikumar’s movies. It is a movie for only ‘C’ Centers with lots of mother sentiment scenes and comedy scenes which don’t create any impact on the movie.

Verdict : Movie for C Centers Only

Sibiraj to star with a German shepherd

Actor Sibiraj, son of veteran actor Sathyaraj is on the lookout for well trained male German shepherd dog to act in his next film. Looks like the dog would have an interesting role in the film looking at the enthusiasm of the actor.

Sibiraj tweeted “Guys we’re lookn for a FULLY TRAINED MALE GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG for my next film. Do send pics and videos tonfilmfactory@gmail.com.” The young actor who made is debut with ‘Student No: 1′ was last seen in 2010 released Naanayam is still looking for a break in the industry.

A R Rahman sings for Drums Sivamani ?

Drums Sivamani will make his debut as a music director when he will compose music for Vikram Prabhu’s upcoming film Arima Nambi, which will be directed by Anand Shankar. The friendship and rapport between Sivamani and Oscar winner A R Rahamn is a known fact and looks like the debutante has made A R Rahman croon for his tune.

The film is directed by Anand Shankar, a former associate of AR Murugadoss with Vikram Prabhu and Priya Anand in the lead. Sivamani is planning to surprise the audience with some soul touching melodious numbers as well apart from his peppy numbers.

Gautham Karthik refuses to pair again with Lakshmi Menon

Gautham Karthik one of the upcoming heroes of Kollywood has already 4 films under his kitty, ranging from Aishwarya Dhanush’s Vai Raja Vai, Silambattam Fame Saravannan’s Sippai, a remake of Nani’s Ala Modalaindi and very recently a movie with Muthaiah of Kutti Pulli.

The latest buzz going around about Gautham Karthik is however altogether a different reason, Sources reveal that Muthaiah wanted to pair Lakshmi Menon with Gautham for this project, however Gautham seems to have intervened and convinced the director to cast a new heroine citing he already pairs up with Lakshmi for Sippai and it would appear stereo-typed if he pairs up with the same heroine again.

I Want to Become a Film All Rounder – Sara

At 9 pm on a sultry evening, the cast and crew of Nila Choru is ready to shoot. Director Sundararajan is in front of the camera and enacts the scene that’s to be shot. Child artist Sara, of Deiva Thiirumagal fame, watches keenly and gets the sequence right in just two takes.

She’s a few films old and has done many advertisements, which is perhaps why studios and sets aren’t alien to her. “I just follow what director uncle tells me,” says the eight-yearold. Currently, she’s busy with two films in Tamil — Nila Choru and Vizhithiru. The latter — about a sequence of events that takes place in night — required her to shoot in the streets of Chennai at night. “Thank god there’s no school now,” she smiles, “I catch up on my sleep in the afternoons mostly so that I can shoot at night. But I keep telling my papa, ‘take me to London, so that I can get used to timing and then we’ll come back and shoot at night in Chennai for Vizhithiru.’

Her father, Raj Arjun, an actor himself, gives her company on the set. So, what’s next for Sara? “She’ll be the lead character in director Vijay’s next film,” he reveals, “Titled Saivam, it will be produced and directed by him. It’s a village-centric subject and he (Vijay) wants to shoot it as soon as possible.”

Ask Sara what she wants to become when she grows up, and she says, “I want to become a film all-rounder. I want do everything except being a producer or a cameraman.” Prod her on why she wouldn’t want to be either of them, and she says, “Those two people are always working. Changing lens, handling different cameras and coordinating with artists — those are very tough.”

ghajini actress Jiah Khan committed suicide

Bollywood actress Jiah Khan, who debuted with Amitabh Bachchan in the film Nishabd, and also acted in Aamir Khan’s film Ghajini, committed suicide at her Juhu residence on Monday night. The 25-year-old actress was reportedly suffering from depression. Jian had moved to Mumbai recently and was living with her mother Rabiya.
Her body has been taken to Cooper Hospital for post-mortem.

Police has taken initial statements of Jiah’s mother, their servant, house maid, watchman and three friends.

Her mother said, Jiah was depressed after coming from Hyderabad after doing an audition for two big Telugu films. Her audition had reportedly gone awry, she told police.

Jiah, she said, wanted to make her career in Telugu films, after her career drooped in Bollywood. She had no Bollywood project with her at the moment.

The last film that she acted was in the Bollywood film Housefull, in which she had a minor role.

Doctors at Cooper Hospital said, initial reports about the post-mortem would be available by noon.

DCP Zone 9 has deputed two tams and a team of local police to begin investigations. No suicide note was left by the actress in her home.

Actor Aditya Pancholi came to Sagar Sangeet Apartment no 102 to console Jiah’s mother this morning.

The suicide took place at around 10:45 pm on the third floor of Sagar Sangeet Apartments in Juhu.
