Following a defamation case filed by director Kalanjiyam, Anjali has been issued summons to appear before the magistrate for a hearing. The actress has been issued summons to appear before the court on June 5th failing which an arrest warrant may be issued.
It may be mentioned here that Anjali had alleged that her aunt and director Kalanjiyam are torturing her and have usurped all the money and properties brought out of her earnings. She also alleged that Kalanjiyam threatened to murder her. Director Kalanjiyam has denied all these allegations and had filed a defamation suit against the actress for making misleading statements against him.
Kalanjiyam was earlier planning to approach the various bodies in Kollywood requesting them to take action against actress Anjali who failed to turn up for his film shoot, before filing the case. The actress was supposed to shoot for the film Oor Suttri Puranam on April 24.
