Tamil cinema rarely produce films which plays with our emotions and GNR Kumaravelan’s Haridas is one such film which brilliantly depicts the autistic child and his relatioship with his father.
Haridas revolves around three characters Sivadas (Kishore) , Hari (Pritviraj Das) and Amudhavali(Sneha), but the screenplay was brilliant which didn’t lost its grip till the end. Kishore ,the talented actor essayed his role to the sheer perfection. Kishore at his best as a tough cop and a lovable father of the special child. Haridas is probably the best role offered to Sneha in recent times and she lived as Amudhavali. But the real heart stealer is the small boy Pritviraj who essayed the role of the special child Hari and he was brilliant in portraying the role of a autistic boy.
The best thing about Haridas is that the film is not preachy and GNR Kumaraveln’s screenplay is very tight. The film also portrayed the enounter portions really well. The film just moves as a clear stream of water with feel good factor prevails in each and every scene, especially the climax was fabulous. The film must be lauded for Rathnavelu’s brilliant cinematography with different lighting which suits the mood of the film.
Yugi Sethu plays the role of a doctor and his role was really interesting . Though Soori’s role is for a comic relief at some time it looks cliched and boring. All other small characters like Pradap Rawat are adequate.
Vijay Antony who was known for his loud background score has ashown a brilliant transformation and his BGM is soul strirring. GNR Kumaravelan’s Ninaithaley Inikum and Yuvan Yuvathi might not be a great film, but his Haridas is one of the brillant movies in Tamil cinema.
Verdict : Enjoy the feel good ride
