Anirudh is first approached to do Music for Ajith – Siruthai Siva Film

Anirudh Ravichander received truly a “Rahmanic” welcome from fans and celebrities alike for his third Album Vanakkam Chennai which within 23 hours of release went on to be the number 1 album in Itunes India.
Anirudh’s career would witness yet another meteoric rise as he is all set to compose for the Ilayathalapathy-A.R.Murugadoss project next. Anirudh in a recent media interaction revealed that he was also offered a chance to compose for Thala Ajith-Siruthai Siva project but at that time he was in Mumbai working on the master for Ethir Neechal and things couldn’t be worked out and Devi Sri Prasad was roped in instead.
It’s worth mentioning that Anirudh is personally a huge fan of Thala Ajith and hopes to score music for his flick soon

There is Nothing Wrong to act in Swimsuit Dress – Shruthihassan

There are lots of criticisms because Kamal’s daughter Shruthi Haasan has donned the glamorous call girl role in a Hindi film titled D Day. When asked Shruthi Haasan about this, she said, “They are criticizing me be by telling that I have crossed my limitations in glamour. Cinema is a profession.

After taking up acting we should do what the story demands. If I have to act in a swimming dress I have to act. There is nothing wrong in it. There is a comment that I have acted vulgarly in the call girl role. You should see that with an artistic eye. Lots of actresses have acted glamorously in call girl roles. No one has criticized them but they are blaming me. Since I liked the story of D Day, I agreed to act in the role of a call girl.

I can bring out my acting skills only if I act in this film. I am not worried about adverse comments. My whole concentration is on cinema. I will act in films even after I get married and have kids. I will take an oath from my would be husband that he should not prevent me from acting after marriage. Many of the actresses are forcibly prevented from acting after their marriages.

I don’t accept this. Women have come out of their kitchens long time ago. They are earning independently and standing on their own legs. I have faith in God. My favorite God is Muruga. I will go to temples. My father is an atheist. I am living alone in Mumbai.

Vathikuchi Movie Review

AR Murugadoss and Fox International has given us “Engeyum Eppothum” which garnered critical and commercial acclaim. Now the combo is back with Vatthikuchi which is directed by Kinslin who was a former associate of AR Murugadoss.

Vatthikuchi is a story about a share auto driver and his struggle when he is hovered by unusual circumstances. Shakthi (Dileban) an honest driver lives his life peacefully but his honest and helping tendency leads him to be a enemy to three different gangs. The rest of the story tells us how Dileban wins all the three gangs with brawn and brain.

Dileban is good in stunt performance but he have to improve his expressions and dialogue delivery. Anjali plays the bubbly character and as usual she did the role with an ease. Among the number of actors only Sampath and Jegan did a good job. Other actors like Jayprakash,Ravimariya ,Vatsan did a okay performance.

Vatthikuchi’s biggest strength is Kinslin’s screenplay, RB Gurudev’s cinematography and Rajasekar’s stunt choreography. Dileban’s point of narration and his mind voice is okay at start but after a point of time it is repetitive. Ghibran’s background score is good and so as the songs, especially the Vatthikuchi theme adds the sparkling feel to the stunt scenes.

So many scenes in the first half is promising like the one where Dileban takes on Sampath and also the love portions between Dileban and Anjali. The way Jegan gang capture Dileban is dashing.

Though the film looks interesting some scenes are silly like the one where Dileban takes rest and eat food before the climax. The film also has many logical loopholes. Anjali’s comic portion in first half falls flat.

Overall the film is a decent attempt and it is a huge platform for Dileban as an action hero.

Verdict : Vatthikuch has its sparkling moments

It’s an honor to work with Ajith – Ashwin

Ashwin K or ‘Mankatha’ Ashwin as he’s known to some, has had the privilege of working with some of the industry’s biggest names in Gautam Menon, A.R. Murugadoss and Venkat Prabhu at such an early stage in his career. Apart from his charming countenance he gained prominence with his role as S.I Ganesh in Mankatha, which showed him in shades of grey.

After bagging the award for Promising Newcomer of 2011 for Mankatha, Ashwin is currently filming for his maiden solo hero project titled ‘Megha’, directed by Karthik Rishi – a former assistant of Subramaniam Siva.

Being fully aware of the weight of the expectations, Ashwin is enjoying the responsibility of playing the lead hero. Despite his aspirations to make it to the top as a lead actor, Ashwin is not averse to playing supporting roles, especially if it’s alongside the likes of Ajith, as in the case of Mankatha where the two shared ample screen space. Ashwin says it’s an honour to be working with someone like Ajth and he would love to do it again.

As for the director of ‘Megha’, Karthik Rishi, Ashwin is highly impressed with his attention to detail and the confidence with which the director is driving forward the project. The film also boasts of maestro Ilayaraja’s involvement in the music department.
