Actor Jai is a wanted man in Kollywood after his impressive performance in Raja Rani, The actor’s Naveena Saraswathi Sabatham is slated for release next Friday. The actor also holds an intresting project tilted Vadacurry with actress Swathi directed by Saravana Rajan a former associate of Venkat Prabhu. Suriya Next is Like Baasha ?

Surya’s next big film with Lingusamy has started rolling in Mumbai. Sources say Surya will be sporting two different looks in the movie and the story of the film will be very much on the likes of Superstar’s Baasha. Another similarity is that majority of this Untitled Surya flick will be set in Mumbai.
This movie also marks the Kollywood comeback of Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The stellar cast includes Manoj Bajpai and Vidyut Jamwal. Yuvan Shankar Raja scores the music for this Linguswamy’s Production Venture.

Madhubala returns to Kollywood with Balaji Mohan’s film

Actress Madhoo, who was last seen in Tamil in Mani Ratnam’s 1997-film Iruvar, is now returning to Kollywood with Balaji Mohan’s new film Vaaya Moodi Pesavum. The Roja actress will be seen in the role of a writer in the Tamil-Malayalam bilingual, which stars Dulquer Salmaan and Nazriya Nazim.
The film’s producer Sashikanth confirms, “It is an experimental film and Madhoo was impressed with the role.” However, we hear that she will not be playing the mother to either of the leads and she will share screenspace with Nazriya, as the character she plays is that of the heroine’s relative.
Madhoo is expected to join the film’s shoot, which is currently underway in Munnar, from November 17. Interestingly, the actress had shot with Mammootty for her first Tamil film, Azhagan, at the hill station, and will now be shooting with his son in her comeback film.

When Vijay Laughed due to Music Director Imman

Music Director D.Imman is currently one of the hottest property in Kollywood delivering back to back chartbusters, the Composer’s life has come a full circle again after debuting in Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Thamizhan, the duo are joining hands once again for Jilla.
The music composer in a recent interview revealed more on the project..

“Vijay sir called me and asked if we can work together in Jilla. I took the tape recorder and went to meet him the moment he said that. Vijay sir laughed heartily, seeing me unchanged from how I was when we worked in Thamizhan. I haven’t asked Vijay sir for another opportunity after Thamizhan. If I had done that it would have been irking. I knew that we would meet again in the long run and I am very happy about it.”

When quizzed on, If the Music Director would try his acting like the other upcoming music directors, Imman had this to say “I don’t think a music director needs the identity of an actor. I wish to be identified just as a good music director.”

Why is Vikramprabhu Unique ?

The first look of the film Ivan Veramaathiri, which has Vikram Prabhu’s face covered with a mask, has created a buzz in Kollywood circles. The title itself gives very little about Vikram’s character in the film. When we asked the director of the film, Saravanan, about the title, he says, “Vikram Prabhu’s character in this film is really different from other lead roles played by actors so far in Kollywood. That’s why I chose this particular title (Ivan Veramathiri). My lead protagonist will react to situations to which we normally don’t respond much – that’s why he is unique.”
The film also has Surabhi and Ganesh Venkatraman in the leads. The director, whose last film was Engaeyum Eppothum, adds, “We are planning to release the audio later this month and hoping for a November release.”

Nazriya Nazim has no time to romance

O2 pictures in association with Harmon movie makers have produced Ore Nyabagam, their maiden venture, directed by V Vignarajan, a former assistant of Radha Mohan and it has been shot by Edwin Sakay. The cast comprises many fresh talents raring to go and Tridha Choudhry is set to make her Kollywood debut in ‘Ore Niyabagam’.

Shankar Tucker, an American Youtube sensation and an ace clarinetist is the composer for this film, whose lyrics have been penned by Thamarai and Madhan Karky. The film has been shot in picturesque locales around the country and the first look posters bear testimony to the visual quality of the film.

“There’s no comparison to any role I’ve done in my career so far with Bhanumathi, the character I play in Ezhamathe Varavu. When Hariharan Sir said that the character I play in the film would be a mature housewife in her 30s and about the depth of the role, little did I know how it would be a milestone in my career,” she says.
While Bhavana has mostly been seen in glam roles in her recent films, this film, she says, would see her in a makeover mode, with her costumes in the film being mostly saris.

I Want to Become a Film All Rounder – Sara

At 9 pm on a sultry evening, the cast and crew of Nila Choru is ready to shoot. Director Sundararajan is in front of the camera and enacts the scene that’s to be shot. Child artist Sara, of Deiva Thiirumagal fame, watches keenly and gets the sequence right in just two takes.

She’s a few films old and has done many advertisements, which is perhaps why studios and sets aren’t alien to her. “I just follow what director uncle tells me,” says the eight-yearold. Currently, she’s busy with two films in Tamil — Nila Choru and Vizhithiru. The latter — about a sequence of events that takes place in night — required her to shoot in the streets of Chennai at night. “Thank god there’s no school now,” she smiles, “I catch up on my sleep in the afternoons mostly so that I can shoot at night. But I keep telling my papa, ‘take me to London, so that I can get used to timing and then we’ll come back and shoot at night in Chennai for Vizhithiru.’

Her father, Raj Arjun, an actor himself, gives her company on the set. So, what’s next for Sara? “She’ll be the lead character in director Vijay’s next film,” he reveals, “Titled Saivam, it will be produced and directed by him. It’s a village-centric subject and he (Vijay) wants to shoot it as soon as possible.”

Ask Sara what she wants to become when she grows up, and she says, “I want to become a film all-rounder. I want do everything except being a producer or a cameraman.” Prod her on why she wouldn’t want to be either of them, and she says, “Those two people are always working. Changing lens, handling different cameras and coordinating with artists — those are very tough.”

Jayalalitha affectionate gesture to actress

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, yesterday visited actress Sukumari in the hospital. The actress has been admitted to the intensive care due a fire accident that occurred at her residence, while lighting the lamp in the pooja room. Jayalalithaa visited the actress unannounced and offered Rs five lakhs as financial aid. It is also reliably learnt that she has instructed the officials to ensure that the actress’ hospital expenses are taken care of by the Govt.

Jayalalithaa has acted in several films with Sukumari and she was also featured in films directed by Sukumari’s husband Bheem Singh. Jayalalithaa is known for her affectionate approach to her co stars and in Sukumari’s case too she did not forget the past.

With folded hands the mighty CM requested the doctors to take extra care of the actress. She said, “Sukumari is a valuable person. I know you are taking good care of her. Still I request you to take extra care.”

The actress has suffered 35 % burns and is battling in the hospital for recovery. Due to the accident, her kidneys were damaged and she had undergone dialysis twice.Jayalalithaa spent about 10 minutes with Sukumari and they spoke several things

But Tollywood is not ready to give up o the actress and they have been calling her constantly for their movies. Apparently, Anushka prefers to stay in Kollywood as she belives it is a safer place to work. Sources say that she has told a few close friends that in Telugu, the heroes are intitially well behaved but later on, they prove to be dangerous. She is also said to have told her friends that in Tamil, one can trust the people and work in any isolated location.

Ram Charan’s Naayak in Tamil too

Ram Charan Teja, the star who has won the hearts of Kollywood audiences with his Maaveeran is all set to release his upcoming movie Naayak in Tamil simultaneously with the Telugu version on January 9.
Kajal Agarwal and Amala Paul are playing the female leads for Ram Charan in Naayak that will enjoy a special number sizzled by Charmi. Naayak enjoys the compositions tuned by SS Thaman, while Chota K Naidu has handled the camera among the technical crew.
Directed by VV Vinayak, Naayak Tamil distribution rights are bagged by Abhirami Movies in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Meanwhile, Ram Charan and Genelia starred Telugu movie Orange is gearing up to woo Tamil audiences from December 28.
