Suriya Next is Like Baasha ?

Surya’s next big film with Lingusamy has started rolling in Mumbai. Sources say Surya will be sporting two different looks in the movie and the story of the film will be very much on the likes of Superstar’s Baasha. Another similarity is that majority of this Untitled Surya flick will be set in Mumbai.
This movie also marks the Kollywood comeback of Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The stellar cast includes Manoj Bajpai and Vidyut Jamwal. Yuvan Shankar Raja scores the music for this Linguswamy’s Production Venture.

Suriya gives out 10 crores to Gautham Menon

A leading Tamil Journal has published an interesting article involving Actor Surya and Director Gautham Menon after the duo have decided to part ways.

It’s a well known fact that it was Director Vasanth who introduced Surya to the film industry through his Nerukku Ner movie. The director approached Surya in later time for yet another movie chance, In development Surya went to Vasanth’s home and explained him that Currently the director was not in a state to Direct him and told him politely that he would instead the give the amount that Vasanth would receive if the movie becomes the hit, Interestingly Surya did give Director Vasantha a huge amount then and there.

Once again a similar incident has just occurred, involving Actor Surya and Gautham Menon. Everybody would be totally aware of the recent headline that saw Surya dropping out of Gautham Menon’s Dhruva Natchathiram and owing to never work with him again. But here is a less known incident from the same episode.
Actor Surya has actually financially helped out the Director nevertheless, The actor who had received an advance of 5 Crores for Dhruva Natchathiram has added another 5 crores and handed over a total of 10 crores as a compensation to Gautham Menon for dropping out of his movie.

Story
Singam 2 kicks off right from where Singam ended. After resigned from Police force Suriya is now in Tuticorin, an NCC coach in a school where Hansika studies. A series of events leads Suriya gathering info about a drug deal taking place in the area. Towards the interval, Hari keeps us pinned with his crisp narration, well thought dialogues coupled with witty one liner comedy from Santhanam and Vivek. The interval bang is spot on, that is one superb scene.
Into the second half, and the movie traverses on jet speed. Hari’s thinking works here, as he overlaps the main story with the comic and dramatic scenes. The movie, even though put down by a few speedbreakers (songs) and a not-so-great climax, moves on at a good pace and ends convincingly.
Performance wise, Suriya is at full swing, He looks ravishing with his new mustache perfect when it comes to dialogue delivery, facial expressions. Stunts have been well executed, and he has pulled off some cheeky movements in Singam Dance. This guy has lived the role.
Hansika has a fairly mightier role to play than the main heroine.
Anushka who has been carved as a glam doll just for the sake of the songs. I feel she lost in this movie.
Vivek is hilarious, while Santhanam does bore you down a bit at times. Scenes between santanam and Anushka are OK and Santanam imitating Kamal is hilarious.
Villain’s What Singam 2 lacks is a powerful villain. Danny and Rahman had justice to their roles but not strong as Prakash raj in Singam.

If a movie runs for 3 hours, and can manage to keep you entertained, you got to give credit to the director. Even though a little more care could have been taken, Hari must be lauded for his work. Dialogue writing is his strength and he has lived up to it, few lines do prick you up.
Cinematography by Priyan is commendable. One must appreciate the use of chopper cameras at various instances to provide a different angle. Editing is slick barring the long runtime. Stunts deserve a special mention.
Music by DSP is horrible none of the songs entertain you and slow down the pace of the movie and BGM is not that great

Overall Singam2 is one time watch for strictly Suriya fans and it will bring mass audience to the theaters in B and C Centers for sure.. movie fate is depend on how well the audience receives

UP police to watch Singam for motivation

The UP police will now be watching films like Singam, Dabangg and Ab Tak Chappan to get motivated. UP ADG, Law and Order, Arun Kumar has issued a 5-page circular asking for special screenings of films that show a policeman as a superman. He is hopeful that such films will inspire the cops to do their job better.

The cop hero in ‘Dabangg’ knows how to win the confidence of the people and tackle the goons. They feel that these movies can motivate the state police to work for the people. He also said that, “Despite being corrupt to an extent, the cops in these films protect the law and destroy criminals and their gangs. The victory of a police officer against the criminals in politics is inspiring and the cops need to understand this”.

Gautam Menon – Suriya Dhruva Nachatiram from June 1

Gautam Menon confirmed his next movie Dhruva Nachatiram which will have Suriya as the main lead and the movie is produced under Photon Kathas. There were many speculations about Suriya-Gautam Menon film since no official announcement was made. Gautam Menon cleared the rumors by his official announcement.

He tweeted, “Nothing tentative about this…The film is called Dhruva Nachatiram…We have started work and filming with my friend Suriya starts June 1.” Official cast and crew details are awaited.

Suriya will do both Lingusamy and Gautam Menon films simultaneously. Lingusamy film will start from August. Meanwhile, Suriya is busy with Singam-2 under Hari’s direction. Anushka and Hansika are playing the female leads.

Surya, Linguswamy & Gautham Menon episode

The Surya, Linguswamy & Gautham Menon episode as taken another wild turn. Surya was earlier faced with the dilemma of having to choose between the man who gave his first big break in kollywood in Gautham Menon and a kollywood biggie in Linguswamy. Reports had it that Surya had opted for new combination in Linguswamy and thereby pairing up with Samantha but rumour mill now has it that GVM & Surya have gone on to register their project’s title as “Dhuruva Natchathiram” and shooting would kick off by May. Its important to note that already a movie tilted ‘Dhuruva Natchathiram’ featuring Arjun was released in 1990′s.

This Trizetto saga continues to keep us enthralled , we just have to wait for the official confirmation to know who Surya picks.

A look on Suriya’s upcoming films

Gautam Menon and Lingusamy are waiting for Suriya’s dates. Suriya is now busy with Hari’s Singam 2 in South Africa. He will be back in Chennai by Thursday and will have to take a final call and announce his next film.

These are two directors who claim that Suriya has given the green signal to their projects. Gautham Vasudev Menon who celebrated his 40th birthday on Monday (Feb 25) has confirmed to the trade that he is starting his film with Suriya in April. Gautham by the end of the week is flying to US on location hunting for his proposed Suriya film.

Meanwhile Lingusamy has also confirmed that he is starting his next film with Suriya as the hero, as soon as he completes Singam 2. Lingusamy is fine-tuning his Suriya script at the moment in his ancestral house in Kumbakonam. Lingusamy has also got confirmed dates of Samantha who will be playing the heroine in the film.

Lingusamy is all set to wield the megaphone for a film with Suriya in the lead role and the movie will hit the floors shortly. Sources are at buzz that the film will be a full-fledged action entertainer.
It is known that hot and happening actress Samantha has been zeroed in for the female lead role in the movie and this will be her first film alongside Suriya. The expectations are quite high on the movie to be made lavishly with a high budget. Prakash Raj is roped in for important role. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music composer.
