The entire country is waiting for Vishwaroopam and people in Tamil Nadu are hugely disappointed with the ban, but we at Kollywoodtoday bring you the exclusive review of Vishwaroopam . Here we go…
Vishwaroopam is one of the best films that India has ever produced. The production value, the screenplay execution, the cinematography and above all the man of the moment Kamal Hassan’s acting, every thing is top notch. Kudos to the entire team.
Kamal hassan(Vishwanath) a Kathak dancer is living with his wife Nirupama (Pooja Kumar) in New york in a marriage of convenience .Nirupama doen’t like Kamal hassan for his feminine gestures. Nirupama also has a soft corner on her boss and sends a detective to find a fault with Vishwanath in order to file a divorce. The rest of the story tells us the real side of Kamal Hassan. A roller coaster thriller well executed.
Kamal is excellent as a Kathak dancer and as a Kashimri. The transformation scene from Vishwanath to a Kashimiri was sheer mass and the fight sequences with ultra slow motion and the Yaar Endru Therigiratha BGM is brilliant.
Rahul Bose has played his cold blooded villainy character with ease. Pooja Kumar has played her role perfectly well and her character in the comic portions has worked really well.
Shekar Kapur, Andrea and Nasser have done their job well. Cinematography by Sanu Vargese is crystal clear and is on par with Hollywood standards. Illayaraja’s art direction deserves a huge applause, especially the Afghan sets that appear real.
Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s Songs are good but the BGM is not up to the mark. Editing by Mahesh Naryan is slick and stylish. The reverse shots are exteremely good.
Verdict : On the whole Vishwaroopam is Kamal Hassan\’s best movie till now. Go, watch and enjoy the ride.
